It is a reduced model of perfect proportions, details and chisel of the fountain commissioned by Cosimo II de 'Medici when, for his marriage to Maria Maddalena of Austria, he had the Oltrarno area rearranged in 1608, also decorating the Ponte a Santa Trìnita with the famous four statues of Seasons sculpted by Caccini and Francavilla. The attribution is uncertain, however certainly from the Buontalenti workshop. This miniature continues the Renaissance taste of collecting high quality scale models of famous monuments.
